It is with profound sadness that MASCC shares the new that our dear friend and member Eva Schumacher-Wulf has passed away. Since connecting with MASCC in 2023, Eva has been a true thought leader in our community, generously sharing her insights on managing the symptoms and side effects of cancer from the invaluable perspective of a patient partner.
Eva was an extraordinarily engaged member of MASCC, active in our projects, research, conferences, webinars, and round table discussions, with memorable presentations at our Annual Meetings in 2024, 2025, and 2026. She contributed to several study groups, including our work on emerging toxicities, and served on our Patient Partner Committee, where her voice helped shaoe our priorities. Eva believed deeply in centering the patient voice in supportive cancer care, and she lived that belief through years of generous engagement with MASCC and its members.
Our deepest condolences go out to Eva’s family, friends, and the many colleagues whose lives she touched. She will be profoundly missed.
