2023 Annual Meeting Highlights

JUNE 22-24 • NARA, JAPAN • #MASCC23

The MASCC/JASCC/ISOO 2023 Annual Meeting in Nara, Japan broke new ground as our first joint meeting with one of our MASCC affiliates: the Japanese Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (JASCC). This meeting also marked our first Annual Meeting in Asia, and we were delighted to welcome over 1300 delegates representing nearly 50 countries around the world.

Our meeting this year featured plenary sessions on Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, Traditional Medicine, and Disparities in Supportive Care, all held within the ancient and beautiful city of Nara. The overall theme of the meeting was “Interdisciplinary Nature of Supportive Cancer Care”, and we were pleased to welcome colleagues from many disciplines and specialities to discuss the latest research and innovations in supportive care.

Beyond our scientific content, we were excited to host our first Annual Meeting Mentorship Event, pairing early-career attendees with experienced mentors for 30 minute mentoring sessions. New members were also invited to our New Member Breakfast Reception, and all attendees were given the opportunity to purchase a ticket for our Presidential Toast and Reception, featuring a sake barrel opening ceremony and photo opportunities with MASCC leaders dressed in traditional yukatas (summer/casual kimonos).

A special thank you as well to Prof Ian Olver, our 2023 Annual Meeting Chair; Jocelyn White, Events and Marketing Manager; and the entire organizing committee for their hard work, dedication and leadership in organizing this successful meeting.
