Supportive Care 2030 Movement – President Training Fellowships

Home > Supportive Care 2030 Movement – President Training Fellowships

Dear Colleagues,

The MASCC Foundation and our President Prof. Florian Scotté are calling for expressions of interest for two Supportive Care 2030 Movement – President Training Fellowships.

What Is the Supportive Care 2030 Movement?

As a global leader in supportive care in cancer, MASCC led the development of 15 ambition statements (13 statements and 2 sub-statements). The statements were collaboratively developed by patient advocates, researchers and care providers through a consensus process. These statements describe the desired state of supportive care in cancer by 2030 and are intended to guide future efforts of MASCC and the global cancer care community. Achieving such standards of care is not the sole responsibility of MASCC and will require the concerted efforts of the global community. Click here to access translations of the ambition statements in 15 more languages.

To further advance our shared ambitions, a number of research and advocacy undertakings are being delivered and planned. Currently, MASCC is calling for expressions of interest from early to mid-career researchers/research trainees to lead two 12-18 month projects under the mentorship of Prof. Raymond Chan and a wider group of senior MASCC members. The time commitment is expected to be approximately 3 hours per week on average.

PROJECT 1: Conducting a Document Review of all national cancer plans to track process, actions and investments towards the Supportive Care 2030 Ambition Statements.

PROJECT 2: Conducting an Audit of all cancer research funding provided by major funders where the funding support directly helps achieve/advance the Supportive Care 2030 Ambition Statements.

Additional Benefits:

In addition to being awarded the prestigious “SC2030 President Training Fellowship”, the appointee will:

  • Receive mentorship and guidance from a group of MASCC senior leaders who are global supportive care leaders
  • Be the first author of the paper(s) generated in the project
  • Be expected to present the work at a MASCC/ISOO Annual Meeting and support further dissemination work of the Supportive Care 2030 Movement
  • Have the opportunity to be a co-investigator for a larger program of work in relation to the Supportive Care 2030 Movement
